We learned about the Sun and how it releases heat.  First, I saw icing sugar and flames. I noticed the icing sugar started to turned black 

The most interesting thing was it made carbon. When the sugar was heated energy was created. Gas formed and pushed the carbon upward.  The experiment released heat and light

A model helps scientists learn things we can’t visit.

One way this experiment is the same as the Sun is they both have heat and light. One way this experiment is different from the Sun is the sun uses fusion not fire. 

The experiment showed the Sun releases energy in the form of solar flares.

My favourite part was the icing sugar turning into carbon 

Tomorrow I am  going   to Living Springs Camp . I had a think about how I would feel.

For Inquiry, we learnt about some Trailblazers. We had to share what we learnt with people. I worked with Lewis. I chose  Billie jean king because I like tennis and she played it. One thing I learnt about her is she got arrested for trying to vote.

We have been learning  to take notes. First we choose a non-fiction book. Then we read it and took notes. Finally we wrote about our book.

Sharks

There are over 375 different species of sharks. They have lived for over 4oo million years.

Thresher sharks are friendly to humans unless you get hit by their tail.

Whale sharks are the largest sharks and they can grow bigger than a school bus.

Sharks eat fish, squid, and dead whales.

They can sense the electric fields from boats that’s why. They attack boats because they get hurt from it.

Bull sharks are very dangerous, their length is 10 feet. They were found in the Mississippi river in the usa. Goblin sharks are not aggressive to humans.

this week we have been learning about Mass. mass is another word for weight.We weigh in grams(g) and kilograms(kg).We used pan scales and kitchen scales to weigh object. I weighed purple and pink.

in maths we have  been learning about 3D shapes here are some names cuboid, cube, cone, pyramid, sphere, cylinder.

IN hereditary and genetics We learnt

genetics is instructions from your genes.

traits are hereditary are passed down from parents and grandparents.

DNA looks like  cotton buds all lined up in a curved shape.

hereditary is when family passes traits  down to you.
